What's New in Los Angeles Telephone Area Codes

The Los Angeles region, which has telephone area codes 213 and 323, will have a new code, 738to which new service customers may be assigned, Spectrum announced.

According to the telephone service company, the neighborhoods that could have the new telephone area code are: Downtown Los Angeles, Alhambra, Bell, Bell Gardens, Beverly HillsCommerce, Cudahy, Glendale, Hawthorne and Huntington Park.

They are also Inglewood, Lynwood, Maywood, Montebello, Monterey Park, PasadenaRosemead, South Gate, South Pasadena, Vernon, West Hollywood and unincorporated parts of Los Angeles County, Spectrum said.

“The new 738 area code will serve the same geographic area currently served by the 213 and 323 area codes,” Spectrum posted on its website.

Users of the new area code They will have to continue dialing 1 and 10 digits whenever they want to have a local communication, including the 738 code.
