Santiago Gimenez, Luis Romo and Raul “Tala” Rangel, will be three of the starters that were confirmed this Friday at a press conference at the Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena, California, Mexico national team coach Javier Aguirre.

With Giménez’s announcement, the speculations that assured that the striker of Feyenoord of the Eredivisie would go to the bench and América striker Henry Martín would take over as a starter, who did not see action in the last Copa América due to the failed plans of the Mexican national team for a generational change.

In response to a direct question from David Medrano of TV Azteca about his transparent attitude in announcing three players from his starting eleven, Javier Aguirre He answered without hesitation: “Luis Romo, Tala Rangel and Santi Giménez.”

Under this scenario, we will have to wait to see what formation the national coach sends onto the field in his first game in his third period as coach of the Mexican National Team, after his experiences in 2002 in South Korea and Japan, as well as in South Africa 2010, where it only reached the round of 16.

Now with the intention of completing the cents of the peso and after the failure in the last Copa América 2024, the high command of the Mexican national team trusted Javier Aguirre to begin this new process that will seek to step with authority against New Zealand, a rival that is just beginning to raise its hand with a more defined football style and that hopefully will serve as a good exemplar for the Mexican national team.

The doubts

In this way, the doubts about facing New Zealand will continue to be the same as when there was speculation last week about Santiago Giménez’s starting position. and that of Henry Martín, which this Friday was revealed in favor of the striker of the team from the Netherlands.

So we will have to wait and see if Aguirre will use Julián Araujo from Bournemouth, Israel Reyes from América, Johan Vázquez from Genoa and Jesús Gallardo from Monterrey in defense, while in midfield with the confirmation of Luis Romo his companions are expected to be Luis Chavez of Dynamo Moscow and Sebastian Cordova of Tigres.

While Santiago Giménez’s attacking teammates are likely to be Julian Quiñones of Al-Qadisiyah Football Club and Marcelo Flores of Tigres, But with Javier Aguirre we could certainly still expect some new things.

It cannot even be ruled out that he might suddenly try out two number nines like Santiago Giménez and Henry Martín, leaving Julián Quiñones behind as support. or that Erick Lira appears as a libero, getting in between Johan Vázquez and Israel Reyes.
