Javier Hernández continues to go through difficult times at Chivas de Guadalajara. Chicharito has only one goal in his return to the Sacred Flock. The former goalkeeper Ignacio Calderon hopes that Hernandez’s image not be affected by her last memories with the red and white team.

In January 2024, Javier Hernández returned to the ranks of Chivas de Guadalajara after spending almost 20 years in international football. However, His return to the Sacred Flock has not been the best. Ignacio Calderon explains that age is a factor that affects their performance.

“No one is a gold coin that everyone can like.” Some would like to see him as if he were in his mere youth, but it is difficult.”But you have to understand that what he did, no one can take that away from him. And that is what counts,” Calderón told Mediotiempo.

The 36-year-old veteran striker has missed opportunities within Fernando Gago’s team. Due to physical problems, Javier Hernández has not played any minutes since July 20. Injuries have been a constant in Chicharito’s career in his last few seasons, with Los Angeles Galaxy and with the Sacred Flock.

“Unfortunately, injuries (have appeared)but what he has done in football nobody can take away from him. The merits, having played with great European teams, Not everyone does it. Unfortunately, he had an injury before arriving at Chivas and he has not been well, but I believe that what he did is still present. I would like the legend that he is to continue, but it has not been possible,” he added.

Chicharito’s image must not be tarnished

Javier Hernández is one of the Mexican footballers who had the best career in European football. Chicharito played for great teams such as Manchester United, Real Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, West Ham and Sevilla. Calderón explains that Hernández’s great successes cannot be erased by a bad ending to his career.

“What he did in Europe no one can take away from himNobody can say, right now he is not doing it. But we know that he is coming off a very difficult injury and that he has not been able to recover. But there is no discussion about the fact that he has made a name for himself in Mexican football.”he concluded.

Since he arrived at Chivas de Guadalajara to fulfill this second stage, Javier Hernández has only been able to play 16 games between the Clausura 2024 and what has gone by of the Apertura 2024. During this number of matches the Mexican attacker He has only scored one goal and provided one assist.
