Horror Nights at Universal Studios

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood (100 Universal City Dr., Los Angeles) kicks off this week and includes eight haunted houses, a reimagined Terror Tram, several scare zones and live entertainment. The haunted houses include The Weeknd: Nightmare Trilogy, the immersive experience curated by singer The Weeknd; A Quiet Place, based on the Paramount franchise; Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Legacy of Leatherface, a 50th anniversary celebration of the monster; and Monsters 2: The Nightmares of Latin America, a sequel to the 2023 haunted house. Memnon at the Getty Villa

Memnon is the story of a powerful Ethiopian king who travels to the city of Troy to do battle during the Trojans’ darkest hours. This legend from Greek mythology, which will be featured at the Getty Villa Museum (17985 Pacific Coast Hwy., Pacific Palisades), has been overlooked for more than a thousand years—until now. The Day Of The Dog Festival, America’s largest dog-themed festival, returns to downtown Santa Monica’s Main Street for the second time. Celebration in Long Beach
