Lucas Ocampos is the new signing for Rayados de Monterrey. The footballer Argentine left Sevilla and revealed who convinced him to go to Mexican soccer.

Ocampos said that Jesús “Tecatito” Corona and Oliver Torres were important when making his decision, as well as Martín Demichelis.

“It was a personal and family decision, Martín makes me very excited and the first time I spoke to him, He proposed and showed me the project, I spoke with the president and vice president, and I liked it, always respecting the times and hoping that they would always speak with Sevilla first.

“A very important and difficult decision because of what I am leaving here, I have spoken with Oliver and Tecatito, This will help me adapt, we hope to see each other there soon,” he said in his official farewell to Sevilla.

The 30-year-old Argentine footballer arrives in Liga MX after 208 games, 44 goals and 22 assists with SevillaHe also won two UEFA Europa League titles with the Seville club.

“I think that in the end, at 30 years old, the opportunity to join Rayados came up. I felt that if I went to this club for free, It wasn’t the decision I wanted, to say goodbye in this way, leaving something to the club and then I’m going to continue competing, a team that next year is going to compete in the Club World Cup (in its new format), I’m going to continue competing and that’s what motivated me.

Rayados de Monterrey strengthens for Liga MX and the Club World Cup

Rayados de Monterrey have added their fifth reinforcement in the current Liga MX season. According to reports, they are also interested in bringing back Orbelín Pineda from Greek football.

“I’m leaving a competitive team and I’m going to another competitive club, a family, personal decision, I think that all parties were happy, I also want to say that it was not easy for me, one of the hardest moments of my career, but there are always new challenges and today I made the decision to do this,” he added.
