Guillermo Ochoa is one of the great exponents of Mexican football. Memo continues to play in Europe at 39 years old. The Aztec goalkeeper attended the first training session with his new club: AVS Futebol SAD.

Memo was announced a couple of days ago by AVS Futebol SAD and was already presented with his new teammates. It is evident that The Mexican is one of the most experienced players in the club and, with all his experience, he will be one of the strong voices in the team.

On the social networks of AVS Futebol SAD they shared some images of the Guillermo Ochoa’s first meeting with his new teammates. Memo also shook hands with his new coach, Vitor Campelos.

“Hello, AVS friends, I am Guillermo Ochoa and I am very happy to be here. “Força, AVS!” said the Mexican goalkeeper at the end of the video.

Guillermo Ochoa’s video was a success on social media. AVS Futebol SAD, being a very new club, has little movement in digital spaces. However, The Portuguese team had more than a thousand interactions and several comments from Mexican fans.

Guillermo Ochoa in Europe

In 2011, Guillermo Ochoa had his first opportunity to demonstrate his talent on the Old Continent when he played for Ajaccio in France. After that club, Memo developed a taste for Europe.

AVS Futebol SAD will be the sixth European team in Guillermo Ochoa’s career. Memo also played for the Malaga, Granada, Standard Liège and Salernitana.

It is worth remembering that this is a team that has just been promoted to the first division of Portugal. As with the other clubs he has been to, Memo and his teammates’ goal will be not to be relegated.

This is a modest club valued at just over $8 million dollars where its most notable players are youngsters on loan from Benfica and Sporting Lisbon: Rafa Rodrigues and Rodrigo Ribeiro.
