Dani Carvajal, Real Madrid player and also from the national team The Spanish national team, current champion of the Euro 2024 that took place in Germany, will once again wear red against the Serbian team and in that match he will be reaching 50 caps as an international and will be the captain of his country in that match.

Clear, short and precise statements

In a press conference prior to the Nations League match against Serbia, Carvajal took the opportunity to praise the words of his teammate in the Casa Blanca team, Vinicius Júnior, in which he once again accused Spain of being a racist country: “There is no doubt that Spain is not a racist country. “Since I was a child, I have grown up with many nationalities in my neighbourhood, in Leganés. Spain is not a racist country,” the Spanish defender stressed.

“I would just like to say that we are totally against any situation of racism in stadiums. I know what Vini is going through and we support him both internally and publicly. “I think LaLiga is improving and protocols are being drawn up so that rioters cannot return to sporting events. But, beyond those people, I don’t think Spain doesn’t deserve to hold a World Cup.”

On the possibility of wearing the captain’s armband against Serbia, Carvajal admitted that “it would be a great thing, ten years later, to step onto the field as captain of the national team. “My close circle knows what it means to me to be captain of Spain. Hopefully tomorrow I can fulfil that promise.”

Can he win the Ballon d’Or?

Finally, he thanked the technical director of the Spanish senior team, De la Fuente, for giving him and Rodri his votes for the Ballon d’Or in its next edition, although he does not see himself as a favourite to win it. “It is clear that, being a defender… in football, what shines is the goal. But well, with having the possibility of winning it I am very happy”
