Andrés Guardado reveals his chances of returning to El Tri

Andrew Saved has been one of Mexico’s flagship players in recent years. The “Little Prince” played 181 matches with the shirt of the Mexican national team. Saved is still active and revealed the possibilities of continuing to be linked to El Tri.

Javier Aguirre is the new Mexico coach ahead of the 2026 World Cup. The “Vasco” has not closed the doors to any El Tri player. Andrés Guardado revealed that he had some conversations with the Aztec strategistbut their intentions were related to the exchange of experiences from the previous process.

“I had a call with him (Javier Aguirre). I had a talk with him since I was the captain of the last World Cup, to share his experience, talking about that and yes, there was a relaxed conversation, that the doors were left open.. Tomorrow I will go to work with the Mexican national team and see how I can help, but it was not an invitation as such, I shared my experience with him and the door opened for a future“Guardado told TUDN.

Andrés Guardado remains active in Mexican football. After his time at Real Betis, the “Little Prince” signed for Club León. In the recent season, the Aztec has already accumulated five matches, two for the Leagues Cup and three for the Apertura 2024.

The former Real Betis player is still a player eligible for the Mexican national team. However, The “Little Prince” is willing to return to El Tri, but under any other role. Andrés Guardado’s aspirations are also linked to the support from management and the technical staff.

“Yes, without thinking about it (being on the coaching staff), I will be retired for sure, If I get the invitation I wouldn’t think twice. Living a World Cup from another responsibility, without being Javier Aguirre, but contributing behind the scenes, also learning, It is super enriching, it would be a great opportunity“, he explained.

In December 2005, Andrés Guardado debuted with the Mexican national team jerseySince then, the “Little Prince” has played 181 matches with the Aztec team. In more than 12,000 minutes on the field, Guardado has accumulated 28 goals and 31 assists.
