Within the French National Team they are not oblivious to the pressures that their biggest star, Kylian Mbappé, would have due to his weak start with Real Madrid in LaLiga where on Sunday he finally finished making his debut as a goalscorer with a double in the victory over Betis (2-0) at the Santiago Bernabéu.

French coach Didier Deschamps spoke on Monday about the striker’s situation ahead of the two UEFA Nations League matches that the French team will play on Friday against Italy and next Monday against Belgium, both at home.

“It wasn’t effective – at first – but I spoke to him and he feels fine. Obviously he’s not at his best yet, but he’s not a robot or a superman.”said the French coach, excusing the 25-year-old attacker who has been under pressure for his lack of goals at the start of this season.

Despite having a streak of three games without being able to score with Real Madrid in LaLiga, Kylian Mbappé He had already made his debut with a goal and a title when he won the European Super Cup after beating Atalanta (2-0). So far he has a record of three goals in five games with the Whites.

“Kylian is used to this in his daily life, he sets himself very high standards. His coach Carlo Ancelotti was not worried and neither was I. Kylian has always scored goals and he will score them.”added Didier Deschamps, making it clear that they are calm regarding the striker’s current situation.

“Expectations (on Mbappé) are always high. He has a great capacity to absorb everything that happens on and off the pitch. But we can understand that human fatigue can be significant.”said the strategist from the French concentration in Clairefontaine.

This is how Kylian Mbappé and the rest of the players arrived at the French national team’s training camp on Monday for the double date of matches in the UEFA Nations League.

Finally, Deschamps expressed his satisfaction at being able to count on the French captain again in the first squad after the last Euro 2024 Germany, where the French team said goodbye in the semi-finals after losing to Spain (2-1).

“He will come with a smile. The group is better when Kylian is here”said the coach about the player who since that continental tournament in which he suffered a broken nose had already shown the lack of goalscoring that caused concern but which he now seems to be starting to get rid of at Real Madrid.

France will open the UEFA Nations League group stage with matches against Italy and Belgium, with whom they share Group 2 of League A, which also includes Israel. The top two teams will directly qualify for the next stage.
