César Montes has had bittersweet campaigns in the Old Continent. The Mexican has two relegations in two seasons in Spain. The “Cachorro” could leave in search of a better club, But Almería has put up a huge obstacle.

The former Liga MX player has not been out of place on Spanish soil. Despite the fact that César Montes has two relegations, The Mexican has been a regular player in his appearances with Espanyol and Almería.

On his first descent, Montes escaped the second division of Spain when he joined Almería. But this time he has not found a top-flight club willing to sign him.

Almeria puts obstacles

Relegated clubs regularly lose many players due to how unmotivating it is to play in the second division of any country. That’s what happened to Cesar Montes in his first two seasons in LaLiga. This time, Almería would not close the door on him if he left, but his price is quite high.

According to ESPN, Almería would be willing to sell César Montes, but for a rather juicy sum of money. The club is expecting to receive €14 million euros ($15.6 million dollars) for the Mexican defender.

This figure is quite high. A few months ago, the report of the Alleged interest from Club América in the “Cachorro”but the Mexican team would have put on the table an approximate figure of $9 million dollars.

It is worth remembering that this measure may be a response from the club to the large investment made a year ago by the Mexican defender. Almeria paid $15.4 million dollars by César Montes. The Mexican is the most expensive signing in the club’s history.

So far, César Montes has played one official match in Spain’s second division. The Mexican has accumulated 45 minutes with the clubbut his possible departure remains latent. The “Cachorro” has a valid contract with the club until June 2028. A loan could be an option, but only if Almería considers that it does not need to cash in on the 27-year-old Mexican centre-back.
