Edson Alvarez He received praise this Saturday after West Ham’s defeat at the hands of Manchester City (1-3) of Pep Guardiola who had some words of recognition for the Mexican midfielder of the Hammers.

The Spanish manager of the English team shared his opinion on “El Machín” who since last season took over the middle of the West Ham pitch, becoming an indispensable piece, something he hopes to repeat in this nascent season of the Premier League.

“He had a great year last season. He is a very intelligent player but he is coming off a long injury and little by little he will get back into the game.”said the City coach about the Mexican who played his third consecutive match after his return following two months out due to a muscle injury.

Manchester City’s Spanish manager, Pep Guardiola, has made statements regarding West Ham’s Mexican midfielder, Edson Álvarez.

This Saturday, against the English league leader, the Mexican midfielder completed a great performance in the 77 minutes he was on the pitch. He had a 94 percent successful pass rate, with one dangerous chance created, in addition to recovering two balls.

However, that performance was not enough to stop the current Premier League champions from losing for the second time in their first three games, with West Ham being managed by Spaniard Julen Guerrero, who took over the team for this season.

Erling Haaland in beast mode

For its part, Manchester City maintains its perfect run in this Premier League start with an important victory against West Ham (1-3) thanks to the contribution of an inspired Erling Haaland who scored all three goals for the Citizens.

The powerful Norwegian striker is having a good start to the season with City, scoring seven goals in the first three games, an offensive output that exceeds that of all the teams in the English league.

For the second consecutive match, Haaland scored a hat-trick, this time in the 10th, 30th and 83rd minutes to complete the Citizens’ victory over West Ham, who had reduced the deficit thanks to an own goal by Portuguese defender Rubén Dias in the 19th minute.

Manchester City, who have won against Chelsea (0-2), Ipswich Town (4-1) and now West Ham (1-3), will have to wait a couple of weeks before resuming action in the English championship in the FIFA double-header of international matches. When the local tournament resumes, they will face Brentford.

West Ham will face Fulham in what could be a Mexican duel between Edson Álvarez and Raúl Jiménez. It is worth noting that both players are not included in Javier Aguirre’s first squad as the new Mexican coach for the September matches.
