Controversial Donald Trump film to be released before election

“The Apprentice,” the controversial film that deals with the supposedly dark route that Donald Trump followed to become a real estate magnate, has found a distributor and is scheduled to premiere days before the presidential elections.

In the film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, it is described how thanks to the tutelage of defense attorney Roy Cohn (played by Jeremy Strong), Trump acquired some of his business-closing skills that made him a millionaire.

Besides, In one part of the story he appears raping his wife, Ivana Trump (played by Maria Bakalova) who stated this in her divorce declaration.

Despite the expectation that arose among Americans to see the film, lThe major studios and film distributors chose to refuse to show it, fearing a lawsuit. millionaire, considering it detrimental to the image of the 78-year-old presidential candidate.

However, Briarcliff Entertainment will release “The Apprentice” on October 11 in theaters in the United States and Canada.

In this regard, Steven Cheung, communications director for Trump’s campaign, in a statement called the production, which projects a grotesque profile of the former president, “election interference.”

“This ‘movie’ is pure malicious defamation, it should never see the light of day and it doesn’t even deserve a place in the straight-to-DVD section of a soon-to-be-closing movie discount store; it belongs in a landfill,” he wrote on social media.

In his defense, since May, the Iranian-Danish Ali Abbasi, director of the film, expressed through a message on the X platform, formerly known as Twitter, that he was willing to sit down with Donald Trump to try to convince him that he was not trying to harm his image.

“I would offer to meet him anywhere and discuss the context of the film, do a screening and chat afterwards, if that would be of interest to anyone in the Trump campaign,” she wrote.

It is not yet known whether the legal team of the man who intends to return to govern the nation will file a lawsuit on the grounds that he has been harmed by the film.
