Three years after that Joe Biden announces withdrawal of US combat troops from Afghanistan (2021)two decades after the attack on the Twin Towers, the issue became a Republican political banner and this time it was the turn of James David Vance, Donald Trump’s running mate, who used the topic to attack Kamala Harris.

Under that context, Vance said Vice President Kamala Harris “can go to hell” over the Biden administration’s handling of the 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal.

The comment arose from an “incident” that occurred during former President Donald Trump’s visit to Arlington National Cemetery on Monday to mark three years since a suicide bombing in Kabul killed 13 military personnel during the country’s chaotic withdrawal.

Trump visited a part of the cemetery known as Section 60, where the remains of veterans of the post-9/11 conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan are laid to rest. While there, an interaction occurred between Trump campaign staff and a cemetery official, according to multiple sources. The dispute appears to be over whether the Trump campaign photographer had permission to be there.

“Three years ago, 13 brave and innocent Americans died, and they died because Kamala Harris refused to do her job, and there has not been a single investigation and not a single firing.”said Vance, Trump’s running mate.

“To say it was Kamala’s withdrawal is not an exaggeration. Kamala Harris boasted that she was the last person in the room. She said she was comfortable with the decision. She claimed that the administration had made significant progress, even as scenes of chaos erupted around the airport and Americans were trapped in that country,” he said.

Vance called Harris “disgraceful” and said the narrative should be that “Kamala Harris is so asleep at the wheel that she won’t even do an investigation into what happened, and wants to yell at Donald Trump because he showed up.”

““She can go to hell,” he said.

The US withdrawal came nearly 20 years after the war began in response to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. That operation resulted in the deaths of 13 soldiers at the hands of the Taliban.

The Biden administration and Congress have conducted several investigations into the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan. A White House report and a State Department report have partly blamed the Trump administration for circumstances that contributed to their difficulties.

The report published by the White House states that Biden was “severely influenced” by the decisions of his predecessor in office.
