“Tournaments and sports continue to partner with betting companies, which continue to attract new people to unhealthy betting. The days when cigarette brands sponsored sports are long gone,” continues in his statement.

The Frenchwoman said she does not expect betting to be banned, but tennis should not promote them. In recent years, sports such as baseball, football, basketball and other disciplines have had controversial cases linked to betting.

“I am not saying that they should be banned, as people are free to do what they want with their money. But maybe we shouldn’t promote them.
