Former President Donald Trump’s golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, will host a gala on Sept. 5 to benefit those charged in the 2021 Capitol assault, in which an attack by the politician’s supporters attempted to prevent Joe Biden’s electoral victory from being certified.

According to the event’s website, the organiser and beneficiary is the Stand in the Gap Foundation, which provides assistance to those arrested for the assault and says that they “have shown incredible bravery and sacrifice” but “face significant challenges”.

Confirmed guests include two former Trump political advisers, Rudy Giuliani and Peter Navarro; several conservative influencers, Anthony Raidmoni, Bo Loundon and Hannah Faulkner; wrestling champion Colby Covington and relatives of those accused of assaulting the Capitol.

The former president and Republican candidate appears at the top of the list as a “guest,” but his campaign told USA Today on Monday that he will not attend the event.

Trump, in his current campaign, has insisted on the unfounded allegations of voter fraud that led to the incident and continues to express support for the participants.of which 1,400 have been identified and charged by the Department of Justice.

In fact, the tycoon collaborated early last year with around twenty people arrested for the incident who formed a choir in prison and recorded a song with them called ‘Justice for all’, which quickly rose in the sales charts.

The gala, which also seeks to “celebrate” the musical success of the accused, proposes paying $1,500 dollars for an individual ticket and up to $50,000 for a “VIP” table for 12 people, the website indicates.
