Inter Miami managed to secure their place in the playoffs Major League Soccer for the 2024 season. The Las Garzas team, led by Argentine coach Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino, defeated FC Cincinnati led by Venezuelan striker Kevin Kelsy at Chase Stadium and earned their ticket to the next phase of the North American league.

Uruguayan striker Luis Suárez was the best player of the Miami team having scored a pair of goals with which Miami is further consolidated as leader of the Eastern Conference and maintains its firm path to seek to be MLS champion this season.

Luis Suarez was in stellar form throughout the game

The former Liverpool, FC Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid player He was unstoppable in the match against Cincinnati and managed to score his first goal in less than 30 seconds, as the pink team managed to move the ball to the right side to play with Marcelo Weigandt, and the Argentine winger was able to assist without major difficulties to ‘Lucho’ Suárez so that he could define to the back of the net of the rival goal, with his right foot.

The double finally came in the 6th minute of the match thanks to a Terrible defensive error by the visiting team after losing the ball. Pat Noonan’s team was left in a very bad position in their defensive line and, living up to his nickname, ‘El Pistolero’ Suárez did not forgive at all. A wall pass with Paraguayan Matías Rojas left the Uruguayan in a one-on-one with the rival goalkeeper and he easily defined and scored the 2-0.

When the second half of the match arrived, it was quite positive for Las Garzas, even with the expulsion of one of its players, Tomás Aviles, who committed a serious foul on the Venezuelan player Kevin Kelsy, and had previously been cautioned.

Inter Miami controlled the match

Even though FC Cincinnati sent elements onto the field Like Luciano Acosta (MVP of the previous season), Sergio Santos and other interesting players who were having very good performances on the field, Inter Miami knew how to manage the actions in the second half to get three new points and get their ticket to the playoffs. The objective is to maintain a constant level of this game in the 8 games that remain in the regular season.

Also, the fact of taking the victory of 2 goals to 0 is aThis is very good news for the pink team from Florida, as they were coming off a painful elimination in the Leagues Cup 2024 after losing a similar lead against Columbus Crew last Tuesday, August 13. The challenge for Inter Miami and Tata Martino is to lift a new title for the Fort Lauderdale franchise and the hope is growing stronger and bigger, especially since the return of the Argentine striker and team captain, Lionel Messi, is just around the corner.
