Rosie Rivera is very protective of her father, Don Pedro Rivera, 81, and has made that clear, especially now that he is re-engaged.
In an exclusive interview for the show “En Casa con Telemundo,” the younger sister of the late Jenni Rivera spoke about her father’s relationship with Nataly Rodríguez, 42. During the interview, the former member of Top Chef VIP mentioned that she still feels like a child jealous of her father and shared details about the interaction between her, her siblings, and Don Pedro’s future wife.
However, Rosie also revealed that Don Pedro has not yet had a formal conversation with his children about his decision to marry Rodriguez.
“I always say, ‘Dad, until you tell me, I’m not going to believe anything. I mean, I saw the photos and I said, ‘Dad, what’s going on here?’”said Rivera, who added: “I am a normal daughter… a little jealous; very jealous; very protective; very defensive. And he accepts me and tells me and takes care of me and calms me down. [me dice]: ‘Don’t worry'”
“As far as I know, he gave her a ring, but I didn’t see him get on one knee, I didn’t see him ask any questions, so until he tells me he’s engaged, at this point…” Rivera said, leaving in suspense what he thinks regarding the veracity of the commitment.
“And they don’t know each other?”Aleyda Ortiz asks her, to which she responds: “Yes, I have met her. My brother Juan, we met her. Believe me, I am still a 43-year-old woman, but I still feel like a 9-year-old girl who thinks ‘no one is going to be my stepmother… I’m not going to call her mom’”Rivera shared with a laugh.
What he did say is that Nataly has been cool.
“She has behaved well. There has never been a problem knowing how intense I am.”he concluded.
The purchase of the ring
A few months ago, Don Pedro Rivera left his followers speechless when he shared a video on his YouTube channel. In it, the revered patriarch of the Rivera family revealed that he is ready to take a big step in his relationship. Rivera embarked on a search for the perfect engagement ring to propose to his girlfriend, Nataly.
In the video, she can be seen poring over various options and prices in the jewelry section of a JCPenney store, trying to find the perfect ring.
“I’m going to buy a wedding ring… an engagement ring,” Rivera said enthusiastically in front of the camera. After considering several alternatives, she settled on a model that cost $27,000.

In a new episode of “Rincón en Casa,” hosted by Chiky Bombon and Aleyda Ortiz, the news of the engagement of Don Pedro Rivera and Nataly Rodríguez was addressed during an interview with the couple.
Despite criticism over their 20-year age difference, they shared intimate details about their relationship and recent engagement. During the interview, Nataly showed off the ring she received in a romantic proposal in Las Vegas, the location chosen by Rivera for the proposal. Nataly confessed that the surprise was even greater when she found out that the engagement had not been anticipated.
