Kamala Harris: “I promise to be a president for all Americans”

CHICAGO.- Vice President Kamala Harris calls for unity in the United States and promises Americans to be “a president for all.”

“I know there are people of all political views watching tonight. And I want them to know: I promise to be a president for all Americans,” she said in her speech.

Excerpts from Vice President Harris’ acceptance speech were shared with this newspaper.

“America, the path that brought me here in the last few weeks was certainly unexpected. But I am no stranger to improbable journeys,” she says. “My mother, Shyamala Harris, had a [desafío] own. I miss her every day, especially now. And I know that tonight she is looking down on me and smiling.”

As a Harris-Walz campaign official said Wednesday, Vice President Harris is focusing her message on three axes: the first on her personal and professional history, the second against Project 2025, and the third on the unity and future of the United States that her project offers.

“My mother was 19 when she crossed the world alone, traveling from India to California with the unwavering dream of being the scientist who would cure breast cancer,” Harris recalls. “It was primarily my mother who raised us. We lived in the plains, a beautiful working-class neighborhood of firefighters, nurses, and construction workers, all of whom tended their lawns with pride.”
