Kamala Harris leads against Trump in Latino vote in key states

CHICAGO.- A new poll by Latino Vote Reveals 13 Percentage Point Increase in Support for Democrats Now with Vice President Kamala Harris’ Candidacywho launched a WhatsApp channel for this population.

While in the previous poll President Joe Biden registered 47%, Harris reaches 60%, leaving behind former President Donald Trump, who has 29%.

Vice President Harris also receives greater support in key states, according to the results shared exclusively with this newspaper.

“These results show a big jump in support for the Democratic nominee since April,” the report said. “From 47% for President Joe Biden to 60% who say they will vote for Vice President Kamala Harris. During the same period, support for former President Donald Trump fell 5 percentage points.”

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. also loses supportgoing from 12% of voting intention to 5%.

Voto Latino highlights that the vice president also achieved a better position among Latinos in almost all key states.

“When third-party candidate votes are allocated to Harris or Trump, their support exceeds Biden’s in 2020 by 6 percentage points (well above the margin of error),” the report said.

The poll was conducted between August 7 and 15, just days before the Democratic National Convention, in Arizona, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Young voters are one of the groups most attracted to Kamala Harrisalthough President Biden also had a higher level than Trump, but the data shows a significant advance for the Democrat.

In April, 40% of voters aged 18 to 29 supported Biden, compared with 32% for Trump and 18% for Kennedy.

The new poll shows 61% support for Harris, 25% for Trump and 9% for Kennedy.

Women without college also increased considerably for Democrats, going from 46% to 63% under Harris.

Female university students registered a smaller but significant increase, from 58% to 67%.

A “strong” Kamala Harris

49% of Latino voters think Harris is “strong,” a far cry from the 5% who hold the same opinion about Trump.

24% consider Trump “weak”while 11% think the same of Harris. Eleven percent still lean toward a third candidate.

The outlook for Harris relative to Biden is better, as Biden reached 39% on his “stronghold.”
