The reality and one that has been known for some weeks now, Mexican driver Sergio ‘Checo’ Pérez will continue to be the number two driver for the Australian team, Red Bull Racing. The Aztec will continue to be ‘Mad Max’s’ teammate, Max Verstappen, at least until the end of the 2024 season, despite his recent results which have not been the best, especially when compared to those of the Dutch driver.

This has left Daniel Ricciardo without options, at least for the moment. and Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda to be able to make the promotion to Red Bull, as well as Liam Lawson. But what caught the most attention was the reaction of the Japanese driver, in view of the possible future options that he has to end up with Aston Martin due to its alliance with Honda.

Tsunoda opens up completely and sends a message

The Japanese, in words that were disseminated by the media ‘SoyMotor’ has left a clear message for his own team: “I feel ready to fight with Verstappen.”

Yuki has proven to be quite an aggressive driver on the trackas well as ambitious and his words prove it: “At Red Bull they know my performance. They are happy. That is why I have signed for next year and it is quite clear.”

“I have to keep performing so that they are happy and hopefully “Things will come naturally,” insisted the young Japanese driver.

But despite all the impetus he possesses, Yuki is totally clear and he is aware that at the end of the day it is other people who make the decisions: “They are the ones in charge. I stay focused on what I can do. I feel ready to compete with the best.”

He opens up to top management at Red Bull Racing

“Before, looking from the outside, I was missing quite a few things in control emotional. They expect a more complete driver. I wanted to improve and I feel more prepared,” he continued.

And in addition to that, Tsunoda ended by saying the following: “I believe in myself.and I’m finding more control. I’m happy to be able to do what I do and to be able to hit the target. It’s what I have to do.”
