Stephen Curry's incredible triple that put France to sleep

In France’s best moment in the Olympic basketball final, Stephen Curry appeared, with three-pointers, to put them to sleep and finish off the game. the conquest of the United States, which thanks to its 98-87 victory took its fifth gold medal in a row and number 17 in the history of this discipline.

The NBA and Golden State Warriors star gave a demonstration of why he is considered one of the best shooters in the sport and with up to four three-pointers in the final stretch of the match played this Saturday at the Bercy Arena in Paris, he was in charge of keeping the locals at bay.

In the final minutes Stephen Curry took command of the match and showed off his superstar persona, but there was one shot in particular that ended up sealing the end of France’s chances and the conquest of a new gold medal for the Dream Team.

With just over 30 seconds left on the clock and a six-point lead for Team USA, Stephen Curry held off a pair of French players and after several feints ended up launching an acrobatic three-point shot that went into the basket and sealed the victory.

After his impressive basket, the point guard made the gesture of “putting them to sleep” silencing the French fans and unleashing the madness of the North American fans who celebrated each of the six victories in the same number of games that he played in this Olympic competition.

Stephen Curry was the star of his first Olympic gold medal. The Golden State Warriors guard finished as the top American scorer in the competition with an average of 14.8 points per game.

The prize that was missing

An Olympic gold medal was the only accolade missing from Stephen Curry’s impressive list of achievements throughout his successful career, and in Paris 2024 he established himself as one of the great stars of American basketball.

At the team level, the point guard has won practically everything. He has been NBA champion with the Golden State Warriors on four occasions. He has been chosen as the MVP of the season on two occasions, one of them unanimously, being the first player in history to achieve this.

He participated in 10 NBA All-Star Games, was the MVP of an NBA final among many other titles and as of this Saturday he is also an Olympic gold medal winner with Team USA, with which he had already been world champion twice (2010 and 2014).
