Secretariat of Women in Mexico requests the departure of Adrián Marcelo

The Secretariat of Women of Mexico City sent a statement to the producer of ‘La Casa de los Famosos México 2’, Rosa María Noguerón, in which They are asking for the expulsion of Adrián Marcelo for gender violence against Gala Montes.

On August 6, both Adrián Marcelo and Montes had a heated argument. In the conversation, the actress claims to suffer from depression and Marcelo, who has a degree in psychology, He claimed that he only used that argument for convenience, invalidating his disorder.

The discussion escalated to another dimension when the YouTuber, originally from Monterrey, questioned the actress’s decision to save Agustín Fernández, due to the connection she believed they had.

“I am writing to you regarding what happened on the television program “La Casa de los Famosos México” during the night of last Tuesday, August 6, when the participant Adrián Marcelo exercised gender violence against actress Gala Montesperpetuating stereotypes, prejudices, discrimination and violence against women because he repeatedly devalued and mocked the actress’s mental and emotional health; a situation that was also disseminated through social networks,” the statement reads.

They highlighted their rejection of the YouTuber’s behavior and emphasized that violence against womenwhich is shown through the media, can trigger a distorted vision and increase levels of violence, hate speech and increasing misinformation about what it means to be a woman.

In these three weeks of the reality show, Adrián Marcelo has become one of the least liked residents due to his comments and his constant behavior against the participants of the ‘Cuarto Mar’.
