The novel came to an end and FC Barcelona put an end to it one of the most complicated negotiations of the current transfer market, after long and intense weeks of talks. Dani Olmo, the player of the Spanish national team with whom he won the Euro 2024, will be a player of the Barça club from next season.

No Nico Williams, no problem

The player became the number 1 priority of the culé entityafter his national team-mate, Nico Williams, did not make a decision about his future and apparently opted to continue playing with Athletic Club de Bilbao.

Deco, former Barcelona player and current sports director of the institution Catalan club, made a direct trip to Leipzig in order to fully close the agreement to bring the midfielder to play at the Spotify Camp Nou facilities. Deco was able, along with Olmo’s representatives, Andy Bara and Juanma López, to resolve the economic agreement between clubs and agreed the transfer of the Spaniard for a total of 55 million euros fixed plus 7 in variables, as reported by the Italian journalist specialising in the transfer market, Fabrizio Romano.

The ways and forms of payment for the transfer, so faris completely unknown, but the management of the Barcelona team would have had to reformulate it, since this was one of the key conditions for the German team to be able to finalise the transfer. The German entity intends to collect a good part of the 55 million euros agreed in advance and not in instalments, since they need to have enough money to get a guaranteed replacement for Dani Olmo, one of the best players in Spain and at Euro 2024.

Olmo’s contract

For its part, the Euro 2024 champion will sign a contract which will bind him to the Catalan club for the next 6 seasons, until June 2030. Olmo was ‘desperate and quite excited’ to return home, which is why he ignored offers from other big clubs such as Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga or Manchester City in the Premier League to put himself under the orders of Hansi Flick in Barcelona.

In this way, Barça closes one of its main missions of this season. summer, waiting to see what happens on the left wing, with the signing of Nico Williams practically ruled out. For the moment, the Catalan team will be enjoying all the level, technique and power of the Spanish international, who joins the long list of young players who make us dream of a present and especially, a promising future in the Barça environment.
