Don Omar talks about his fight against cancer

On June 17, Don Omar made a moving revelation through his Instagram account, sharing with his followers his fight against cancer. However, the next day, on June 18, the singer offered an unexpected and encouraging twist by announcing on the same platform that he had beaten the disease.

The reggaeton singer faced an unexpected challenge when he was diagnosed with kidney cancer. However, after a successful operation, the Puerto Rican artist was able to announce that he no longer suffered from the disease. In an exclusive interview with Lili Estefan on “El Gordo y la Flaca,” the singer shared a detailed account of his difficult journey, from the first sign of illness to the moment he revealed that he was cancer-free.

“Almost three shows before finishing I started to feel sick”the artist told Estefan. ““Everything got worse after my show in Miami. My body was showing that something was very wrong.”

In an emotional post, Don Omar showed a picture of his waiting room at the hospital and expressed his gratitude for the support received. “Today I woke up cancer-free and grateful”he wrote, adding that the operation had been a complete success. “Thank you for your good wishes, prayers and thousands of messages. My operation was a complete success and now I have to recover.”

The return of Don Omar

During an interview, the artist also revealed details about his recovery process. According to him, the first symptoms of his illness were fever and body aches, which led him to seek medical attention. The diagnosis came at an unexpected time, right after an intense performance at the Hard Rock Stadium for Formula One, where his body was already giving signs that something was not right.

After his recovery, Don Omar prepares to resume his “Back to Reggaeton” tourwhich will begin on August 7 in Oakland, California.
