While her rivals entered the competition wearing custom-made goggles that blacked out the vision in one eye, heavy ear protection and tinted lenses, Dikeç managed to secure Turkey’s first ever Olympic shooting medal alongside her teammate Sevval Ilayda Tarhan in what looked like ordinary glasses and her casual stance, which was striking because she was holding her pistol in one hand and keeping the other in her trouser pocket.
“I shoot with both eyes, most shooters shoot with one. So I didn’t want all that equipment. I think shooting with both eyes is better.”I’ve done a lot of research on it, so I didn’t need the equipment,” Dikeç told Turkish radio station Radyo Gol.
Regarding the hand he kept, he said that he finds it comfortable and helps him maintain balance and concentration.

Regarding his silver medal, the shooter said he was satisfied and said he would continue to aim high, as he intends to improve on his achievement at the next Olympic Games.
“I am very happy. An Olympic medal is an Olympic medal, and in Los Angeles (2028), hopefully, it will be a gold medal.“, he said.
