Shawn Mendes has given a surprise to his fans, because through his social networks announced that on October 18th he will release his long-awaited fifth album, titled Shawn. It is his big comeback to the music scene, after he suddenly retired in the summer of 2022 due to mental health issues.

The Canadian, who has 72 million followers on Instagrampublished the cover of the album, the track list and a long message in which he thanks those who helped him during difficult times: “Music really can be medicine. 2 years ago I felt like I had no idea who I was. A year ago I couldn’t walk into a studio without panicking. So to be here right now, with 12 beautiful songs finished, feels like such a gift. I honestly thank God for my friends and family.”

Shawn will release the first two singles from the album on August 8ththe day he will turn 26. The songs are titled “Isn’t That Enough” and “Why Why Why”; from the first one he shared a fragment, and it is an acoustic ballad.
Although the artist was away from the stage, since last year he was seen at some music festivals and other events; he also reunited with his ex-partner Camila Cabelloboth at Coachella and the Copa America final match. Now Mendes is ready to promote the new album, although he did not reveal whether he will go on tour.
In it post Shawn couldn’t miss a comment directed to his fans, who have waited for this musical production for more than two years: “To you who have been incredibly supportive, patient and loving, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I really hope you like this album, I do. I really like it. I hope that like me, it makes you feel warm and close to the earth.”
