According to US intelligence officials, Iran is trying to sabotage the political campaign of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
During a briefing hosted by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security, An official told reporters that U.S. intelligence agencies “observed Tehran working to influence the presidential election.”
In this regard, he mentioned that attempts have been detected to sabotage Trump’s campaign through online influence operations, which are summarized in disinformation linked to the Republican candidate directed at citizens.
Without blaming anyone in particular It was reported that “vast networks of online figures and propaganda factories have been identified to spread disinformation.”
In this regard, a spokesman for the Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations denied the accusations of electoral interference.
“Iran is not engaged in any activities or objectives intended to influence U.S. elections.
A significant part of these accusations are characterized by psychological operations designed to artificially animate electoral campaigns,” he said. Fox News Digital.
In less than three weeks, this is the second time that Iran’s name has been linked to Donald Trump.
The first time arose from the attempted murder that occurred on Saturday the 13th, in the middle of a campaign rally held in Butler, Pennsylvania.
However, this information is still unfounded, as the authorities have not been able to advance beyond the hypothesis that the young student in charge of detonating a long-range rifle eight times planned and executed the attack alone.
The truth is that, with or without the intervention of figures outside his campaign, the former president’s popularity has been undermined in recent days, something very difficult to assimilate after having significantly outnumbered all of the opponents the 78-year-old Republican has faced.
In fact, weeks before Kamala Harris was mentioned as an option on the Democratic ticket, at least one poll placed her behind the New York tycoon in a hypothetical matchup.
