Fight to contain megafire continues in California

The Park Fire in California, United States, continued to spread out of control on Sunday and already There are 353,194 acres, almost 143 hectares, burningor, after spreading to two other counties, so specialized authorities believe it will take several weeks to bring it under control.

According to him The California Department of Fire Protection (Cal Fire) had contained 12% of the blaze by Sunday morning.which initially affected Butte and Tehama, but expanded to Plumas and Shasta, for a total of four affected counties.

The Park Fire, which began July 24, is the largest blaze currently being fought in the United States and is spreading rapidly, with nearly 4,000 firefighters and other personnel trying to contain it.

A firefighting aircraft is currently flying over the blaze mapping the area, which will allow for regular updates on the blaze, Cal Fire said on its website.

The fire has forced the closure of several roads, lor affecting potential evacuation routes and the traffic of people working in surrounding communities, the Department added.

Damage survey teams continue to identify and verify structures that have been damaged or destroyed. Evacuation orders and warnings have been issued and two shelters have been opened.

According to authorities, The fire was caused by arson and a 42-year-old man, identified as Ronnie Dean Stout IIwas arrested and charged with starting the rampage by allegedly pushing a burning car into a ravine on Wednesday.
