Robert Downey Jr.’s return to the Marvel universe is a fact! During Comic-Con, this Saturday, July 27, the news was announced to the world.
Marvel Studios producer Kevin Feige was in charge of giving two special news for fans: the first being Downey Jr.’s return to Marvel and the second being the Russo brothers as directors of two upcoming Avengers films.
Downey Jr. will return to play the villain known as Doctor Doom and not as Iron Man as he wanted.

At the Marvel panel at Comic-Con, several hooded people wearing silver masks first appeared. Then, A person in a green outfit, also masked, stood in the middle of the stage.according to the video spread on social networks.
With all eyes and cameras pointed at him, The guy took off his hood, then his mask and, raising his arms, revealed his identity.: Robert Downey Jr.
Marvel detailed that the film directed by the Russo brothers where the actor will play the popular villain. The film is expected to hit theaters in May 2026.
The other film about the popular superhero team will be Avengers: Secret Wars, which will be released a year later, in May 2027.
In this new adventure, Downey Jr. promises to serve a similar role to the one Doom had in the Secret Wars comics.
Doctor Doom, whose real name is Victor von Doom, is one of the main villains of the Marvel Universe.
Among his most important characteristics is that he is a scientific genius who is eager for power. He designed his battle suit, which has nuclear propulsion features with the help of his computer.
His first appearance was in 1962 and with his complex personality he became one of the most prominent antagonists in the comic.
