Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is now five points ahead of President Joe Biden on the ballot, a poll reveals.
The 81-year-old Democrat’s disastrous performance during the presidential debate is taking its toll on him, At least that is what the results of a survey conducted by the television network indicate. CBSwhere his bid for re-election to the White House has begun to slip.
The poll puts Trump with a 52% national lead to Biden’s 47%.
This figure gives him three points more for the New York tycoon than he had the previous month.
Meanwhile, The nation’s leader fell one point from the 48% shown in June, where his fierce rival only surpassed him by two points.
The background in American politics shows that, For three decades, no presidential election winner has achieved victory by more than 5%.
The survey also shows how, Over the past week, Donald Trump has increased his lead by one point in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, all of which are considered key states in determining the winner of the election,
After the 78-year-old Republican was shot in the right ear last weekend and, far from being intimidated, managed to stand up with blood running down his neck to raise his fist in a sign of strength, 54% of those surveyed believe that his action fosters unity among Americans.
Those surveyed during the opinion poll also placed Donald Trump as the winner in a hypothetical confrontation with Kamala Harris, with a support range of 51% compared to 48% support for the current vice president of the country.
In addition, 56% were in favor of Joe Biden withdrawing from the campaign and give way to another Democrat with a better chance of beating Donald Trump.
However, the possibility of seeing an emerging replacement for the president appears complicated, as he insists on continuing with his campaign, even though the numbers are no longer supporting him.
