Jürgen Klopp is the favourite to lead England

After what Gareth Southgate surprised on Tuesday by announcing his resignation as head of the England national team The name of German coach Jürgen Klopp quickly began to be heard in public opinion as the leading candidate to take over the reins of the English team.

The surprise elimination of the North American team in the group stage of the 2024 Copa América that they organized led to the dismissal of the coach, which is why an attempt was made to approach the German coach, who quickly ruled out the possibility of taking over the position.

Expressions of gratitude to Gareth Southgate

Gareth Southgate’s resignation from the England national team took many by surprise, but expressions of gratitude quickly appeared for the coach who quietly managed to restore the competitiveness of the English team.

“He has carried the country’s dreams on his shoulders with dignity and honor”wrote on his official X account, formerly known as Twitter, the English Prime Minister Keir Starmer who also thanked him for “restore hope and faith to the country”.

English football legend Gary Lineker also spoke out in a message on social media. “You have brought a pride, respect and togetherness that we have not seen in the England team for a long time. Thank you, Gareth.”wrote the former English footballer.

Among the players, figures such as Jude Bellingham, Jordan Pickford and Declan Rice also showed their gratitude for the now former England international.
