The case of Dominican baseball player Wander Franco continues to have a lot to offer talk; recently the news broke that the Dominican had used his mother to give money to the mother of the teenager with whom the player apparently had a sexual relationship, in order to not leave any trace, according to what is indicated in documents of the investigation that the prosecutors formally filed with a judge.
The documents were presented this week as part of the formal accusation that was filed against Franco, and The Associated Press had access to them last Friday.
According to information shared by prosecutors, “two cases are recorded financial transfers made by Mrs. Yudelka Aybar”, Franco’s mother, on January 5, 2023. Each one would have been for an amount of half a million Dominican pesos ($8,472 dollars) apparently delivered to the minor’s mother.
More problems and complications in the Franco case
The prosecution made it quite clear that Aybar is incapable of being able to prove where he got those sums of money and that he deposited them without reason to the mother of the minor, whom he did not even know. “He used it to avoid traces with the accused,” says the 101-page file, in reference to the mother of the minor.
Prosecutors say the minor’s mother went from being a bank employee with modest incomes to lead a life full of luxuries and also to acquire goods that she cannot justify to this day, through the money she allegedly received from Franco in exchange for consenting to the relationship with her daughter.
During the raids on the teenager’s mother, prosecutors said they They were able to find a total of $68,500 dollars “from the commercial sexual exploitation and trafficking of her daughter,” as well as another $35,000 dollars, “money that was delivered by Franco.”
“Naney Yudelka Aybar, mother of the accused Wander Franco, made deposits bank accounts to the accused (mother of the minor), as compensation for the accused Wander Franco to maintain a relationship with the teenager,” is written in the document.
Both the player and the mother of the minor must be present at the The court will be heard on August 14 before a judge who will review the evidence, including that revealed on Friday. For the moment, Franco has been on parole since January 5, while the minor’s mother is under house arrest.
