Ford is determined to reaffirm its commitment to electrification in the European market.

With a solid alliance with Volkswagen which has allowed it to access the MEB platform, the American carmaker has unveiled its latest creation: the new Ford Capri.
This model not only revives a legendary name among brand enthusiasts, but also incorporates subtle references to the classic sports car of the 1970s and 1980s.

The new Capri shares its base with the Explorer Electric and will be produced in Ford’s plant in CologneGermany. This SUV coupé will be strategically positioned below the Mustang Mach-Etargeting the European market directly.
In terms of designthe Capri features headlights with a light signature that evokes the iconic circular projectors of the original model.
The closed grille and air intakes in the front bumper, together with the glossy black plastic protections on the wheel arches, underline its SUV character while disguising its height.
Seen from the side, The new Capri combines the silhouette of an SUV coupé with design lines reminiscent of the original Capri.
The sloping fastback roofline and distinctive curve of the third window are direct homages to classic design.
In the rearthe headlights continue with the same design language, joined by a black appliqué on the tailgate, creating a harmonious and differentiated from the Explorer and the Volkswagen ID.5with which it shares architecture.
The interior of the Capri also reflects its kinship with the Explorer Electric, although with a sportier touch.
The dashboard is virtually identical, but the front seats have a sportier design with integrated headrests.
The cabin has a 5-inch display for the instrument panel and a touch screen 15-inch vertical that can tilt up to 30 degrees.
This system, together with a decorative dome that is part of the ambient lighting configurable in 10 colours, provides a modern and technological atmosphere.
In terms of equipment, the new Capri is loaded with advanced technology.
The SYNC Move multimedia system It allows you to manage battery charging, pre-air conditioning of the passenger compartment and the configuration of various comfort and driving assistance systems.
Notable features include lane keeping assist, lane change assist, traffic sign recognition, blind spot assist, adaptive cruise control with Stop&Go functionand cross traffic alert with active braking.
It also has pre-collision assistants, cameras with vehicle, cyclist and pedestrian recognition, and adaptive Matrix LED headlights, among others.
Mechanically, the Capri will be available in two versions. The first option is a rear-wheel drive variant with an engine that delivers 286 hp and 545 Nm of torque, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds and reaching a top speed of 180 km/h.
This version is equipped with a battery NMC of 77 kWh that offers a range of 627 kilometers. The second option is an all-wheel drive version, with two motors that together generate 340 hp and 679 Nm of torque.
Besides It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds. and also has a top speed of 180 km/h. The battery in this version is 79 kWh, providing a range of 592 kilometers.
Both versions are compatible with DC fast chargers, allowing a 10 to 80% recharge in just 26 minutes.
