Chiquis and Jacqie Rivera comment on the vandalism of their mother, Jenni Rivera's star

Chiquis and her younger sister Jacqie Rivera were quick to express their outrage following the vandalism of their mother, Jenni Rivera’s, star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The late singer’s eldest daughter commented on the Hollywood Walk of Fame’s Instagram post, expressing her anger at what happened and also gratitude towards the fans who helped clean up the star in the video.

“I can’t handle this. Thank you to my mom’s fans who took the time to help clean it up. Shame on the person or people who did this.”the singer commented on the post, where you can see the deplorable state in which the star was left after it was completely covered with what appears to be black spray paint.

The singer of “Entre besos y copas” also shared the video on her Instagram stories, where she wrote other words of indignation and gratitude to her fans.

“How sad… But THANK YOU SO MUCH to my mother’s fans for taking action and cleaning up her Star [sic] before we knew it 🙏🏼🔥 We are with you mom”, Rivera wrote in the post.

Jacqie Rivera tells how she found out

Another of Rivera’s daughters, Jacqie Rivera, also shared on her Instagram stories how the family came to know about the vandalism against the La Gran Señora star. Jacqie explained that it was fans who informed the family after visiting Rivera’s star.

“This morning, through a fan in Texas, I learned that my mom’s star in Hollywood had been vandalized. When they went to visit her, they found it completely covered in black paint, according to the photos they sent me. Obviously, she was very angry—I was pissed off—more like. However, I did receive photos and videos from the fans themselves, including her and her family, and other supporters who were there, cleaning up the stars.”said Jacqie who also revealed that her mother’s star was not the only one that was painted black.

“Not only was my mom’s star vandalized, but Selena’s was as well, and they took care of cleaning both of them as best they could. They have already contacted the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which is in charge of caring for and assigning the stars, who are already professionally cleaning them.”he added.

Jacqie also left fans with a thought: “I make this video to tell you [que] I could be upset and angry about what happened, but I prefer to focus on the positive: those fans who took the time to clean my mom’s star. It moves me to tears, it’s really touching. They weren’t obliged to do it, but they love my mom so much that they feel like she’s their own. Many thanks to those fans who took such a meaningful gesture.”

Finally, he expressed his gratitude to those who had informed him of what had happened, and most of all, to those who, with tissues and cleaning fluids, did everything possible to remedy the incident:

“I love you all with all my heart and I thank you deeply for loving her so much. You have touched my heart and we are going to focus on the good. As for the rest, God takes care of it, but thank you with all my heart to all the people who were there and worked to clean up not only my mom’s star, but also Selena’s,” she concluded.

Following the incident, the official Hollywood Walk of Fame account took to social media to denounce the vandalism of Jenni Rivera’s star, condemning the act.

“This morning, fans reported that @JenniRivera’s star has been vandalized. This is unacceptable! We have sent out terrazzo star maker Vince to repair it. Thank you to the fans who tried to clean it up and reported it. Remember, there are cameras everywhere! 🦋,” says the subtitle.

Through the work of professionals, they managed to restore the star to make it look like new.

When did Jenni get a star?

The Diva de la Banda was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, June 27, 2024, just eleven days ago. This recognition came eleven years after her death, with her children, siblings and parents in attendance at the celebration.

To continue honoring her legacy, the Jenni Rivera Memorial Park was established in her honor in Long Beach, California, her hometown. In addition, Los Angeles designated August 6 as Jenni Rivera Day.
