Jude Bellingham was fined $32,400 for a gesture he made after his goal against Slovakia at Euro 2024.

The England star grabbed himself near his genitals after the goal against Slovakia. According to Bellingham, he made this gesture as an internal thing among his teammates and not against the rival.

That same night, at the end of the meeting, Bellingham explained on his social networks that the celebration was “an inside joke gesture towards close friends who were in the game.”

“Nothing but respect for the way the Slovak team played tonight,” he added.

In addition to the fine, the Englishman will also have to serve a one-match ban, although it will not be at Euro 2024, so he will be able to play without problems against Switzerland.

“Fine English Football Association player Jude Bellingham €30,000 ($32,400) and suspend him for a total of one UEFA competition match for which he would otherwise be eligible for violating basic rules of decent conduct.

“Such suspension is not executed immediately and is subject to a one-year probationary period, “from the date of this decision,” the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Committee announced in a statement published on its official website on Friday.

In addition, the Control, Ethics and Discipline Committee of the UEFA decided on Friday to fine the English Football Association 11,000 euros ($11,910 dollars). $10,000 euros“for public disturbances” and €1,000 for “setting off fireworks” by his fans.

Gestures at the Euro Cup are being investigated

Jude Bellingham’s case has not been the only one at Euro 2024.Turkish player Demiral is under heavy investigation for alleged political gesture in Turkey’s victory over Austria.

The defender made hand gestures after the goal against Austria, presumably corresponding to a political group.

This has sparked controversy in German politics, condemning this type of message. To date, Demiral has not received any sanction from UEFA.
