Tuesday night was bittersweet for Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Dodgers. While the Japanese superstar hit his 27th home run of the season, giving his team a crucial lead in the 2-0 victory, 6-5 over the Arizona Diamondbacks, a worrying incident overshadowed the celebration.

A slow-motion replay video of Ohtani’s homer showed the ball hitting a young fan in the forehead as other fans in right field tried to catch it. The impact occurred when the boy was bending over to try to catch the ball.

Images of the incident quickly went viral on social media, raising concerns about the young man’s condition. Although no official information has been released about his condition, initial reports suggest the boy was alert and conscious after the blow.

This home run helped the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 6-5 last Tuesday at Dodger Stadium.

More than 52,000 people attended Dodger Stadium for that game. The Dodgers fell to Arizona on Wednesday.

Shohei Ohtani has been one of the team’s best hitters over the past month. The Dodgers remain in first place in the National League West.

Ohtani is batting .319 with 106 hits, 27 home runs, 64 RBIs and 70 runs scored in 84 games this season.
