Chicharito Hernandez reveals that he was close to suffering a second ligament tear at Chivas

Javier “Chicharito” Hernández is ready for his second season at Chivas and revealed that he was on the verge of being seriously injured.

During the preseason he revealed that he suffered a sprain that could have turned into a torn ligament.

“It was an accident; I almost tore my knee ligament, but it ended up as a sprain,” said Chicharito Hernandez on his Twitch channel

“I’ll show you some pictures later. I think we dodged a very big bullet because I could have torn my cruciate ligament.” on the other knee due to an unintentional slide” and I reiterate that it was an accident.

The Guadalajara striker also said that if it had been another injury, he would have opted to retire as a footballer.

“We are all careful and I almost screwed up my knee. Fortunately, because of the work I do to keep my body in the best possible alignment, it helped my hips to move in the best way and I was saved,” Chicharito added.

He then said that “if I injure my knee again, I’ll retire. I don’t think I’ll be recovering for another eight months, but for some reason, for some reason.”

Javier Hernández played just 10 games between the Apertura and Clausura tournaments last season. The Mexican scored just one goal in his return to the Rebaño Sagrado.

This Saturday the Chivas de Guadalajara season begins at the Akron Stadium against the Diablos Rojos de Toluca.

Chivas hopes to have a recovered Chicharito and fight for the Liga MX Apertura title.
