Millions of American retirees who retired after May 1997 could receive a new payment from the Social Security Administration next Wednesday, July 10, of up to $4,873 if they meet the requirements.

Every month, the SSA publishes its payment schedule for both Social Security retirees and beneficiaries of Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and according to the organization’s planning, in the case of retirees, the first to receive their checks are those who retired before May 1997, which this month corresponds to them on Wednesday, July 3.

Payments will then be distributed to retirees on the following Wednesdays, depending on their day of birth. Those born between the 1st and 10th of any month receive their check on July 10Retirees born between the 11th and 20th receive their payments on Wednesday, July 17th, and finally retirees born between the 21st and 31st of any month receive their benefits on July 24th.

As for the amounts of the checks, not all retirees receive the same benefit; this depends on the retirement age and other factors such as: having worked for at least 35 years in jobs covered by Social Security and having made sufficient contributions during that time.

For retirees who anticipate their retirement at age 62, The amounts in the monthly checks reach $2,710 dollarswhile retirees at age 70 get up to $4,873 dollars every month.

The entity explains that The amounts are usually higher for those people who delay their retirement until the maximum age. Because for each year that retirement is postponed, a positive percentage is added to the benefit, making this the highest payment that a retiree can receive this year.
