The Mexican national team failed to qualify for the quarterfinals of the Copa América, as the team led by Jimmy Lozano tied 0-0 against Ecuador and completely eliminated its chances of advancing past the group stage.

The immediate response to this event could be seen through the networks social networks, when their users began to make a series of memes and complaints against the Mexican Football Federation, as well as against the national team, go viral. After there was not a single score throughout the 90 minutes and added time, journalists, analysts and fans complained about the Tricolor’s performance.

Journalists gave it their all to Mexico and the Federation

One of the first to explode against the national team was Christian Martinoli. At the end of the meeting, he expressed some complaints against the managers who promised that Mexico would go far in the ongoing Copa América. At the closing of the Azteca Deportes broadcast, Martinoli stated that there must be those responsible for this egregious failure of Mexico and assume the consequences of it.

“They should take responsibility for what they say and what they don’t do because all they do is make fools of themselves. Once again, Mexico is making a fool of itself in a top-level tournament.”

“Mexico is out and in this way we experience another resounding failure, because the The Mexican national soccer team’s federation officials said that in this tournament, at least the semifinals are in order. They should take responsibility for what they say and what they don’t do. All they do is make fools of themselves. Once again, Mexico is embarrassing itself in a top-level tournament.”

For his part, Luis García was another of the figures who was quite dissatisfied with team performance and selection management. He pointed out that there are several players and managers who have no place in the tricolor team.

“The entire Copa América of the Mexican team was much more bad than good, it had “He had good times with Venezuela, he had good times with Jamaica, he had good times with Ecuador: that’s not enough, they have to take responsibility. And there are several managers, coaches, staff of 25 and several footballers who have nothing to do with the national team.”

For his part, David Faitelson made use of his official X account (formerly Twitter) to give his unfiltered opinion of how the team performed in the group stage. The TUDN journalist deeply regretted that it was not enough for them to advance to the quarter-finals.

“The crisis in Mexican soccer is regrettable… It’s no use having played better than Venezuela and Ecuador… They play next week. You go home…”, he posted.

Jose Ramon Fernandez forceful

For his part, José Ramón Fernández also regretted that Mexico only sought a penalty kick, since on at least two occasions a possible penalty for the Aztecs was reviewed.

“Waiting for a penalty to qualify is not playing football. While the “While most countries are advancing in techniques, quality and football performance, Mexico is sinking into the abyss of shame and ineptitude. What if we look for another sport to compete in? A revolution is needed in the Mexican football pyramid. With just one goal, you cannot aspire to anything.”

“There are no players, there is no coach, there is no football, there is nothing at all. Sirs! No Let’s show up at an international tournament to be the one who makes me laugh and play a ridiculous and embarrassing role. Let’s have a little dignity!” José Ramón concluded on social networks.
