Sketch of suspect who tried to rape woman sunbathing in Central Park, NY revealed

The New York Police Department published a portrait of the man wanted for trying to sexually abuse a young woman sunbathing in Central Parkthe most prominent urban park in the country.

Police said earlier this week that the 21-year-old victim had been sunbathing alone in Central Park around 1:30 p.m. Monday, near 104th Street and West Drive, when a strange man approached and exposed himself.

She got up to flee, but he chased her and attacked her from behind. The young woman finally escaped after a struggle and went to a hospital for a check-up, but she was not physically injured, according to authorities.

The sketch shows the man with short beard, dark circles and wearing a baseball capaccording to the image published by the authorities.

Authorities described the suspect as a black man in his 30s, of medium build, approximately six feet tall with curly hair. He was wearing a light-colored shirt and shorts.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooter to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.

Authorities have stepped up patrols in the park in response to the attack.

Incident in Queens park

Earlier this month, another shocking sex crime took place in a Queens park.

The police said that A suspected illegal immigrant forced two 13-year-old girls into the woods, tied them by the wrists and raped one of them before stealing their phones and fleeing.

Police arrested Christian Geovanny Inga-Landi, a 25-year-old Ecuadorian, after a group of good Samaritans spotted him walking near a delicatessen and restrained him until police arrived.

The attack occurred on June 13 in Kissena Park, about three miles from where the New York Mets play at Citi Field and near the site of the 1964 World’s Fair and the U.S. Open. The victim also went to the neighborhood school.
