Hyundai Inster: the urban SUV that revolutionizes the electric segment

hyundai presented a preview of its next electric model: the Inster.

This compact SUV is projected as a direct rival to vehicles like the Renault 5 and the Citroën C3 electric, positioning itself as a smaller and more affordable option in the Ioniq range, along with models such as 5 and 6.

The Hyundai Instercalled the Casper electric in South Korea, is a fully electric SUV that represents an evolution of Hyundai’s popular Casper model, which until now was only sold with gasoline engines.

The Inster stands out for its modern and urban design, with features including circular daytime running lights integrated into the bumper and unique rear lighting based on LEDs in the rear window.

Standard wheels are 15 inches, although a 15-inch option is offered. 17 inches for those looking for a more robust aesthetic.

The Inster also features a high-gloss black exterior paint finish made from recycled materials, replacing traditional pigment with a colorant derived from recycled tires.

This innovative approach is complemented by a palette of nine colorssome in two-tone combinations.

Inside, the Inster not only stands out for its elegant design, but also for the use of sustainable materials.

The seats and finishes are made with recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and biopolypropylene extracted from sugar canereflecting Hyundai’s commitment to sustainability.

The cabin includes a 10.25-inch digital dashboard and a multimedia screen of the same sizeoffering an advanced technological experience.

One of the most innovative features of the Inster is its interior configuration, which allows the two rear seats to be adjustable on rails, providing a variable capacity of trunk between 280 and 350 liters.

Additionally, the SUV is equipped with ambient lighting and a sliding sunroof, adding a touch of luxury to the model. All seats are foldableand the front ones can be heated, which increases comfort in cold climates.

Technology and power

Under the hood, the Hyundai Inster houses an electric motor that offers two power levels: 97 and 115 HP. These motors are associated with 42 kWh and 49 kWh batteries, respectively.

Thanks to a 120 kW high-power charging station, The Inster can be charged from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutesmaking it a practical option for urban mobility. In addition, the vehicle has an 11 kWh on-board charger and, optionally, a heat pump.

A notable feature of the Inster is its V2L (vehicle-to-load) function, which allows you to use car battery to power external devices, such as computers or electric bicycles, using an adapter in the charging socket.

The Hyundai Inster is also equipped with a suite of driving assistants, including perimeter cameras, blind spot warning, lane keeping, parking sensors and sign recognition.
