The FBI announced a $10,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of Shelbie Lynn Dwyeran 18-year-old American girl who has not been heard from since March 29, 2023.

Dwyer left his home, located in Des Moines, Washington, on March 25, 2023, to travel to Mexico by car. Over the next few days he had “sporadic” communication with his family, according to the FBI, until contact ceased completely on March 29.

During Dwyer’s road trip to Mexico, she was accompanied by a person described as a “trusted friend.”

“Dwyer is believed to have traveled to Tijuana, Mexico. Probably He traveled by plane from Tijuana, made a stopover in Guadalajara and then arrived in Culiacán, Sinaloa.”, detailed the FBI.

“Dwyer was believed to have been in the Guamuchil, Sinaloa area around March 29, 2023. She has not been heard from since,” the US agency added.

“I just want him to come home.”

According to Dwyer’s mother, Stacy Hurt, His daughter planned to return home, but ended up flying to Sinaloa“That’s when her phone didn’t ring after she left the airport,” the woman explained to KING 5, an NBC affiliate.

Hurt said he last heard from his daughter while he was in Sinaloa, but that call was interrupted. “She was yelling at someone and then the phone went dead.”.

With the announcement of the reward and ongoing investigations, her family, along with the FBI, are hopeful that new information will emerge that will shed light on the young woman’s whereabouts.

“I love her, I miss her, I think about her every day and I just want her to come home,” Hurt said in May. “Just not knowing where he is breaks my heart. I have hope and faith that she will return home. I’m not losing hope. I will not do it.”

Dwyer has three identifiable tattoos: a rose on his right hand, a design that looks like a musical note on the middle finger of his right hand, and the word “blessed” on his right forearm.

Anyone with information about Dwyer is asked to contact their local FBI office, U.S. embassy or consulate, or submit a report online.
