Mitch McConnell, Republican leader of the Senate, seems to go in the opposite direction to Donald Trump’s thinkingbecause while the New York tycoon is focused on destroying the image of Joe Biden in the eyes of the citizens, defining him as a corrupt character, from the perspective of the Alabama politician he is only a good man trying to solve the country’s problems.

In front of an audience in Louisville, Kentucky, the nation’s oldest senator dared to praise the president.

“I know Joe Biden quite well. He’s a good guy; I personally like him,” he emphasized.

McConnell and Biden spent more than 20 years in the Senate and later negotiated deals when the Democrat served as vice president during Barack Obama’s administration.

Despite the praise, the 82-year-old politician, who last year suffered two episodes of freezing in public, rules out being in favor of seeing the country governed for another four years by Biden.

For this reason, he recommends that Donald Trump, far from attacking him with personal insinuations, focus on the two major flaws in the political commitments established by the nation’s leader with the citizens: inflation and insecurity triggered on the southern border by the inadequate management of the migration phenomenon.

“The president was asking for an enormous amount of money, far beyond what most of us thought made sense. Summers… he said at the time, ‘If you do this, you’ll have a 40-year inflation,’ but he did it. It is easy to start inflation and very difficult to stop it.

If Joe Biden is defeated this fall, I think the main reason it will happen is two unforced errors: one, the $2.6 trillion dollars that creates inflation, and the other, basically, the opening of the border.“, he stressed.

To Donald Trump’s delight, he has succeeded in winning both the immigration and economic issues in the eyes of the public.

During his four years in office, far from allowing the arrival of immigrants to the country, he sought to build a new border wall in the area bordering Mexico.

Almost at the same time, he managed to strengthen the economy, but towards the end of his administration the Covid pandemic emerged and this implied, as everywhere else, slowing the growth that the Republican was achieving.
