A Massachusetts man demonstrated the value of loyalty when winning a $1 million dollar prize in the same store where he has bought lottery tickets for 20 years.

Roslindale resident William Lally shared with Massachusetts State Lottery officials that has been a regular customer of the Roslindale Food Mart on Washington Street for two decades. Her persistence finally paid off recently when she decided to buy a $20 ticket for the 100X Cashword lottery, from which she won a $1 million prize.

Lally chose to receive his winnings as a one-time payment of $650,000 dollars before taxes.

The Massachusetts State Lottery congratulated Lally on her win and highlighted the importance of small, local businesses that are part of the community. The Roslindale Food Mart not only sold a winning ticket, but also received monetary recognition for doing so. The store, which he considers his favorite, received a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Lally has trusted the same store for his lottery tickets for so long. The winner found his commitment exceptionally worthwhile.

We know that the lottery is a game of chance. However, jackpot winners often point out that their luck is due to their gambling strategies. Lally did not mention this, but some may consider this situation to have contributed to his victory.
