Shifty Shellshock, lead singer of Crazy Town, dies at 49

On June 24, singer and rapper Shifty Shellshock, leader of the group Crazy Town, died at the age of 49. The Los Angeles County medical examiner confirmed the above, although To date, the causes of the artist’s death have not been revealed.

Born on August 23, 1974, Shellshock (whose real name was Seth Brooks Binzer) began his career in music when he was 18 years old. Together with his friend Bret Mazur formed Crazy Town, a band that combined rock, rap and metal. Their debut album The Gift Of Game was released in 1999, but was successful until the following year, when the third single “Butterfly” ranked number 1 on the list Hot 100 of Billboardbecoming a worldwide success.

The group’s second album, released in 2002, did not have the expected success, but that same year Shifty obtained another widely listened to single, “Starry Eyed Surprise”a collaboration with the English DJ and producer Paul Oakenfold. The group Crazy Town He returned to the music scene in 2007 and toured several times, albeit to a captive audience.

For more than 20 years Shellshock had many problems due to his addiction to prohibited substances; participated in the reality shows “Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew” and “Sober House”of the Chanel VH1. Despite undergoing rehab, he relapsed several times, in addition to being arrested for assault and cocaine possession.
