Two years after June 24, 2022, when the Supreme Court, with a majority built under Trump’s presidency, overturned Roe v. Wade who had protected the right to abortion, Joe Biden revives the controversy and points to the Republican as the culprit of that decision.

To remember, Biden’s team released a spot remembering this second anniversary of the revocation of Roe v. Wade and called Donald Trump a threat to freedomendangering women’s lives and promising to go even further if he is re-elected.

“This is what Donald Trump says about your freedom,” says Biden, as the Republican’s voice appears, arguing: “After 50 years of failures without anyone even coming close to doing it, I was able to kill Roe v. “Wade.”

“Two years ago, Trump’s hand-picked Supreme Court justices helped overturn Roe v. Wade,” insists the president, who for months has been using reproductive rights to attract voters, especially the blocs of young people and women who are especially crucial to his re-election chances.

Suddenly, a voice is heard in the video, arguing “Never before has the Court granted and then taken away a widely recognized constitutional right… New laws prohibiting abortion are coming into effect.”

Given this, Biden himself assures that, “Decades of progress were destroyed only by the last man to spend four years in the White House”

“We know what will happen if he gets another four. For MAGA Republicans, Roe is just the beginning. They are going to try to ban the right to choose throughout the country. Now they will come for in vitro fertilization and contraceptive methods… We are facing extremism,” he says.

Both Biden and his running mate, Kamala Harris, have campaigned insistently accusing former President Donald Trump of creating the conservative supermajority on the Supreme Court that overturned Roe v. Wade two years ago, and both have warned that another Trump term could presage an even more far-reaching national abortion ban.

For this reason, Biden insisted: “Send me back to the White House and I will fight with all my might to restore Roe v. Wade and to protect American freedom”.
