The Mexican national team has had an outstanding and positive participation throughout history in the continental championship of the Copa América, with a path in which he has set the standard and left his mark. In his debut in the 1993 Copa América, which took place in Ecuador, the ‘Tricolor’ surprised the entire football world by reaching the final. In 2007, in the edition that took place in Venezuela, Mexico once again reached the semifinals, an instance in which they fell 3-0 against an Argentina that already had in its ranks a young Lionel Messi and a figure of the Barcelona Football Club. Already in the match for third place, they managed to beat Uruguay 3-1, a national team that three years later would finish in fourth place at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
