The hostess resolved her premiere in the Copa América United States 2024 by beating the Bolivian National Team (2-0) this Sunday at the AT&T Stadium in Texas in the match that opened the action within Group C of the championship.

After completing a preparation in which they were decisively beaten by Colombia (5-1) and were able to get a draw from the Brazil’s selection (1-1) the Stars and Stripes team played its first match in the tournament in which it is called to qualify alongside Uruguay.

The person in charge of opening the scoring for the Americans was none other than their captain, Christian Pulisic, who after receiving the ball from Timothy Weah in a corner kick from the right, was shaping up to take a spectacular shot from the edge from the area to score a great goal (m.3).

The spectacular goal scored by the captain of the United States, Christian Pulisic, who took a masterful shot with his right foot that slipped through the upper left part of the Bolivian goal.

Those led by Gregg Berhalter knew they were far ahead of their rival, so they decided not to take their foot off the accelerator and after dominating practically the entire first half against a totally dedicated South American team, they once again shook the nets at the end of it.

Christian Pulisic, who became the sixth player in USMNT history with 30 goals, on this occasion demonstrated his skills as an enabler by giving the ball to Folarin Balogun (m.44) who entered from the left. The striker settled in and ended up taking a low cross shot to make it 2-0.

In the second half things did not change with the North American team dominating the actions against a team from the highlands that withstood as best it could the offensives led by the inspired Pulisic who was in charge of bringing constant danger to the Bolivian area.

Thus came the second goal for the North American team courtesy of Florian Balogun after a good combination with captain Christian Pulisic.

Guillermo Vizcarra, Bolivia’s goalkeeper, was the best of the South Americans. In the last 10 minutes he was in charge of drowning out the Americans’ goal cry on at least three more occasions, thus avoiding what could have been a scandalous rout in favor of the host.

With this defeat, those from the highlands continue to increase the list of bad results in the Copa América. Of their last 30 matches played, they have only achieved one victory. According to data from Mister Chip, it was on June 15, 2015 against the Ecuadorian National Team (3-2). They have 13 setbacks in a row.

The United States National Team will return to the field on Friday when they face off against Panama at the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta. For its part, the Bolivian National Team will do the same against one of the favorites in the tournament, Uruguay at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
