Eddie Hearn does not believe that David Benavídez can beat Bivol or Beterbiev after fight with Gvozdyk

Eddie Hearn, Matchroom Boxing promoter, does not believe that David Benavídez can beat Dmitry Bivol or Artur Beterbiev following his unanimous decision victory against Oleksandr Gvozdyk in his 175-pound debut.

In an interview with Fight Hub, Hearn expressed that Benavídez’s performance was good, but he thinks he is not a light heavyweight fighter, so He advises him to return to 168 pounds because it is difficult to beat him there.

“It was just a good performance. I like Benavídez, I think he’s a good fighter, but how good? Gvozdyk is a decent level fighter, he is strong, but he is also old,” he said.

“I don’t think Benavídez is a fighter for 175 pounds.. I don’t think he’ll beat Beterbiev, I don’t think he’ll beat Bivol, but I think it’s very difficult to beat him at 168 pounds, I think that’s where all of his advantages come from. “I would advise him to go back to 168 pounds if he can make the weight without problems,” he added.
