The Los Angeles Dodgers faced the Angels for the first time since the signing of Shohei Ohtani. Shohei had a great offensive night, but the Dodgers fell 3-2 against his city rival.

Ohtani received two walks from Mexican pitcher Patrick Sandoval, but in the third inning he disappeared into center field.

Shohei Ohtani’s hit traveled 455 feet with an exit velocity of more than 113 miles per hour. Since 2015, there are 13 home runs longer than 455 feet at Dodger Stadium, Ohtani has 3 this season alone.

Dodger Stadium has had 51 440-foot home runs according to Statcast (2015), the third fewest of any current MLB park over that span.

Shohei Ohtani already has 4 this season, that’s tied for the most home runs of 440 or more feet by any player at Dodger Stadium with Joc Pederson. This is the maximum in a season and we are in the middle of June.

The Dodgers’ Japanese has a .322 batting average with 96 hits, 22 home runs, 55 RBIs and 60 runs scored in 75 games this season.

Angels had the last word in their first duel against Shohei Ohtani

The Angels had the last laugh against the Dodgers in their first game against the Dodgers. Despite the Japanese’s gigantic home run, they took the victory in extra innings.

Angels take the victory against Ohtani and Patrick Sandoval is injured

Taylor Ward was the Angels’ hero with a hit in the 10th inning to drive the run that gave victory to the Los Angeles team.

This Saturday will be the second game between both rivals. For his part, Mexican Patrick Sandoval was injured and revealed that he felt pain that he had never felt before.

“[Sintiendo] which is not the best, I will do some tests in the morning and see what we have,” Sandoval said. “It was really painful. It was something she had never felt before., so it was pretty scary. I have felt normal aches and bruises, but nothing like that.”
